WOVEN: What We’re Building

WOVEN is an early-stage, founder-led nonprofit working to support women through seasons of transition. The need for this work is urgent, layered, and often unmet—and WOVEN is being built intentionally to respond with care, integrity, and sustainability.

At this stage, we focus on connection, education, and navigation, while actively building partnerships and support to expand into direct services.

What Woven Offers Right Now

Connection, Clarity, and Community

Education & Resource Guidance

WOVEN currently provides information and educational resources to help women better understand the systems they may be navigating during transition.

  • Curated educational resources related to safety, stability, and financial literacy
  • Guidance on understanding options, rights, and next steps
  • Help identifying questions to ask when engaging with external providers or systems

This support is designed to reduce confusion and restore a sense of control.

The Thread

A place to connect and not carry things alone

The Thread is WOVEN’s first active program—designed to be accessible, relational, and low-barrier.

  • A peer support community for women navigating transition
  • Guided conversation and shared reflection
  • A space to be seen, heard, and supported without pressure

The Thread reflects WOVEN’s belief that connection is foundational to healing and stability.

What WOVEN is Actively Building

Services needed—and in development

WOVEN is working toward expanding into direct services as capacity, funding, and partnerships grow. These offerings reflect the real needs women face and the long-term vision of the organization.

Housing Pathways

  • Emergency housing for women fleeing unsafe environments.
  • Transitional housing focused on stabilization and next steps.

These services are not yet available and are part of WOVEN’s future growth.

Economic Empowerment & Employment

  • Career skill development (including cosmetology, creative fields, and trades).
  • Education around income pathways and financial stability.
  • Long-term economic empowerment programming.

First-Time Homebuyer Readiness (Michigan)

  • Education and preparation for first-time homeownership.
  • Credit and financial readiness support.
  • Exploration of a sweat equity homeownership model.

Practical & Benevolence Support

  • Assistance during periods of extreme transition.
  • Support with household stabilization, utilities, transportation, and care coordination.

Safety, Wellness & Life Skills

  • Personal safety and self-defense education
  • Life skills workshops supporting independence and confidence
  • Grief coaching and emotional processing support

Why This Work Matters

Many women fall through the cracks not because they lack effort, but because they lack guidance, safety, and support during moments of transition.

WOVEN exists to help close those gaps—but this work cannot be built alone.

Is Woven for Me?

WOVEN offers guidance, education, and community-based support. Participation in our programs is voluntary and requires personal engagement. These questions are meant to help you decide whether this program aligns with your needs and readiness at this time.

Am I willing and able to actively participate in my own growth and stability?

WOVEN provides guidance and support but cannot act on anyone’s behalf. Progress requires personal effort, follow-through, and participation.

Am I open to accountability and personal responsibility as part of this process?

Our programs emphasize accountability as a tool for growth. This includes honest reflection, commitment to agreed-upon expectations, and responsibility for personal choices.

If I am currently in an abusive or unsafe relationship, am I prepared to take steps to leave and remain separated from that situation?

WOVEN does not offer programming for individuals who remain in active harm. Participant safety and forward progress are essential to our model of care.

Am I able to remain clean and sober for the duration of the program?

At this time, WOVEN does not have the capacity to support individuals who are actively struggling with substance use. This limitation is based on current resources and is subject to change in the future.

Am I comfortable participating in a program that is faith-based and grounded in belief in God?

WOVEN is a faith-based organization. Participation does not require adherence to a specific denomination, religious practice, or belief system. We ask only that participants be respectful of the faith-informed environment in which the program operates.

If This Isn’t the Right Fit Right Now…

Not every program fits every season, and that’s okay.

If you are currently in crisis, need immediate safety support, are navigating active substance use, or are not ready to engage in a structured, accountability-based program, WOVEN may not be the appropriate resource at this time.

We encourage you to seek support that best meets your current needs. When circumstances change, and you feel ready to actively participate in this type of program, you’re welcome to reconnect with us.

WOVEN exists to walk alongside women who are ready to engage, take responsibility, and move forward with support. We cannot serve everyone, but we are committed to serving with clarity, care, and integrity.
